Have you also looked at the hands of people who work with vegetable oils on a daily basis? Or do you know people who use hand cream every day and it gets worse and worse? Vegetable fats in cosmetics are completely unsuitable. This is because natural oil oxidizes in the light. Animal fats oxidize in contact with oxygen and are therefore also unsuitable. The spoilage of vegetable and animal fats is due to a hydrolysis and associated splitting of long-chain fats on the one hand and to the influence of atmospheric oxygen (oxidation) on the other with water-containing fats. The faster and faster oxidation processes are called autoxidation or lipid peroxidation. They start with radical reactions on unsaturated fatty acids and lead in a multistage process to various degradation products, in particular peroxides, alcohols, aldehydes and carboxylic acids. Therefore, you should never apply vegetable or animal fats to your skin.

Be sure to use Vaseline-based greases. There is no reason to reject Vaseline because it was made on the basis of petroleum. There is no evidence that Vaseline has a negative impact on health.
